Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2002 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER AND 19TH CENTURY DRAWINGS, which included the work Thetis attended by Nereids (recto) by Pierre Brébiette. The price achieved of GBP 11,352.50 (€ 18,107.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre Brébiette - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Deux Vertus Se Donnant L'Accolade Devant Un Soldat Nain, which sold at auction in March 2009 for EUR 56,302.00.
