Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An artist sketching under the porch of a rural stone building by Pierre-Antoine Demachy was sold in the Master Paintings and Drawings auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The price achieved of USD 1,008.00 (€ 872.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pierre-Antoine Demachy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The clearing of the Colonnade du Louvre and the Demolition of the Hôtel Rouillé in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 424,000.00 (€ 454,545.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit An artist sketching under the porch of a rural stone building von Pierre-Antoine Demachy wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Master Paintings and Drawings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The clearing of the Colonnade du Louvre and the Demolition of the Hôtel Rouillé im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 424.000,00 (€ 454.545,45).
