Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2014 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings Part I, which included the work A Cathedral Interior With Architects Working; And A Cathedral Interior With A Baptismal Font And Figures by Pierre-Antoine Demachy. It changed hands for a price of USD 112,500.00 (€ 83,333.33) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pierre-Antoine Demachy have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The clearing of the Colonnade du Louvre and the Demolition of the Hôtel Rouillé in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 424,000.00 (€ 454,545.45).

Im Januar 2014 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings Part I durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cathedral Interior With Architects Working; And A Cathedral Interior With A Baptismal Font And Figures von Pierre-Antoine Demachy zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 83.333,33) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pierre-Antoine Demachy auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The clearing of the Colonnade du Louvre and the Demolition of the Hôtel Rouillé im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 424.000,00 (€ 454.545,45).
