Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art, which included the work Young Man By A Carriage by Pierre-André Brouillet. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,925.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Pierre-André Brouillet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Suzanne et les vieux messieurs, which sold at auction in October 2005 for USD 96,000.00 (€ 80,033.35).
