It achieved a price of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 41,890.84), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Piero di Cosimo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Madonna And Child Enthroned With Saints Onophrius And Augustine in January 2010 with an auction result of USD 1,202,500.00 (€ 866,979.09).

Die Arbeit Rest on the Flight into Egypt von Piero di Cosimo kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 41.890,84) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Piero di Cosimo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Madonna And Child Enthroned With Saints Onophrius And Augustine im Januar 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.202.500,00 (€ 866.979,09).
