In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters and British Paintings, which included the work Roses, poppies, stras, an iris and other flowers in a glass vase, on a stone ledge, with snails and ants by Philip van Kouwenbergh. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,592.92) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Philip van Kouwenbergh have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Still Life With Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Hoopoe, Plums And A Bunch Of Grapes in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 24,000.00 (€ 35,139.09).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters and British Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roses, poppies, stras, an iris and other flowers in a glass vase, on a stone ledge, with snails and ants von Philip van Kouwenbergh zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.592,92) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Philip van Kouwenbergh auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Still Life With Flowers In A Glass Vase With A Hoopoe, Plums And A Bunch Of Grapes im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.000,00 (€ 35.139,09).
