In the Old Master and 19th Century Drawings auction, the work Studies of Fungi: The Lower Three Are Russula Cyanoxantha, 'The Charcoal Burner' sold for GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,106.55) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Philipp Ferdinand de Hamilton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Studies of Fungi, Including Three Examples of Pinkish-White Bracket Fungi (Possibly Rigidoperus Ulmarius), And Edible Mushrooms Russula Xerampelina (?), Top Right, Lactarius Chryssorrheus, Lower Left, Russula Sanguinea Or Lepida, Lower Right, which sold at auction in July 2006 for GBP 40,800.00 (€ 59,726.4
