This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Bonhams in Paris and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Philip Campbell Curtis; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Christmas Tree sold at auction in December 2007 with the realized price of USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,337.26).
