Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Figures On A Moored Sailing Vessel, A Town In The Background by Petrus Paulus Schiedges. The price achieved of EUR 6,600.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Petrus Paulus Schiedges - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset over the beach of Scheveningen, with the Badhuis and the Paviljoen von Wied in the foreground, which sold at auction in October 2004 for EUR 20,315.00.
