A top price for Peter Scott - as previously expected
In June 2004 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art and Dogs, which included the work Snow geese by Peter Scott. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,755.00 (€ 16,006.66) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Snow geese is the most expensive artwork by Peter Scott that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Juni 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Snow geese von Peter Scott zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.755,00 (€ 16.006,66) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Snow geese das teuerste Kunstwerk von Peter Scott, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
