Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peter Max achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in October 2012. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work Vase of Flowers Version II No. 1 sold for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,508.10) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Max - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in December 2021 for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,195.88).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Max erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit Vase of Flowers Version II No. 1 für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.508,10) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Max mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für USD 7.012,50 (€ 6.195,88) versteigert wurde.
