Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Heart Series IV, Version II sight size 19 1/2 x 15 1/2 in. (49.5 x 39.4 cm) framed 30 1/2 x 26 1/2 x 1 1/2 in. by Peter Max was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in March this year. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,345.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Max - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in December 2021 for USD 7,012.50 (€ 6,195.88).
