In January 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings Part II, which included the work Peaches, grapes and a pear in a ceramic dish on a stone ledge with a pear, walnuts, butterflies and a fly by Peter Jacob Horemans. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,745.81). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Jacob Horemans - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Elegant Musical Company Beside Classical Ruins, which sold at auction in October 2008 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 19,119.62).
