Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Phillips in London held the auction Photographs, which included the work John Waters by Peter Hujar. The price achieved of GBP 6,350.00 (€ 7,358.27) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Hujar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work David Wojnarowicz Reclining (II) in October 2021 with an auction result of USD 157,500.00 (€ 136,340.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Phillips in London die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit John Waters von Peter Hujar zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 6.350,00 (€ 7.358,27) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Hujar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit David Wojnarowicz Reclining (II) im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 157.500,00 (€ 136.340,03).
