Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish Art, which included the work Brothers by Peter Howson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 6,300.00 (€ 7,032.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Howson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 300,500.00 (€ 382,249.13).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Brothers von Peter Howson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 6.300,00 (€ 7.032,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Howson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Three Faces Of Eve, A Triptych im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 300.500,00 (€ 382.249,13).
