Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work South African Untitled (Girl With Sunflower) by Peter Clarke was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,997.61). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Clarke - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work South African untitled (Girl With Sunflower), which sold at auction in October 2018 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 16,915.37).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit South African Untitled (Girl With Sunflower) von Peter Clarke im April 2019 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.997,61) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Clarke mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit South African untitled (Girl With Sunflower) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 16.915,37) versteigert wurde.
