Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Peter Brookes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2018. In the The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer auction, the work ‘Rabid Old Bat’ sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,984.94) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Brookes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work ‘Retire? Pah! Sir Alex Schmalex...’, which sold at auction in March 2018 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,250.76).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Brookes erzielte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer wurde die Arbeit ‘Rabid Old Bat’ für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.984,94) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Brookes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ‘Retire? Pah! Sir Alex Schmalex...’ beobachtet, die im März 2018 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.250,76) versteigert wurde.
