Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Australian Painting (The Hook) by Peter Booth was auctioned at Sothebys in Melbourne in August 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 43,200.00 (€ 25,832.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Peter Booth - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Untitled, 2002, which sold at auction in November 2008 for AUD 168,000.00 (€ 86,633.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Australian Painting (The Hook) von Peter Booth kam im August 2007 bei Sothebys in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 43.200,00 (€ 25.832,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Peter Booth mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Untitled, 2002 beobachtet, die im November 2008 für AUD 168.000,00 (€ 86.633,69) versteigert wurde.
