Auction result misses estimated price range
In October last year a collector was able to acquire the work Pulled from the Fire, Hog Ranch, 1976 by Peter Beard for USD 8,820.00 (€ 8,878.60). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Beard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 in October 2017 with an auction result of USD 672,500.00 (€ 577,352.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pulled from the Fire, Hog Ranch, 1976 von Peter Beard für USD 8.820,00 (€ 8.878,60) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Beard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Orphaned Cheetah Cubs, Mweiga, near Nyeri, Kenya, March 1968 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 672.500,00 (€ 577.352,34).
