Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Barrett could be acquired at Christies in London in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations auction, the work Tiger Swallowtail and Luna Moth changed hands for GBP 35.25 (€ 54.52) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Barrett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A quantity of illustrations including: A family of orang-utans; A large gathering of guinea baboons; A mouse opossum on a twig; A haitian solenodon searching for food; A kangaroo with a joey in her pouch; Two manatees swimming; Two manatees on the se in December 2001 with an auction result of GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,687.7
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A quantity of illustrations including: A family of orang-utans; A large gathering of guinea baboons; A mouse opossum on a twig; A haitian solenodon searching for food; A kangaroo with a joey in her pouch; Two manatees swimming; Two manatees on the se im Dezember 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.687,70).
