In February 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street, which included the work Death Refuses by Percy John Delf Smith. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 625.00 (€ 729.08), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Percy John Delf Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The dance of death in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 13,125.00 (€ 15,719.04).

Im Februar 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street durch, in der auch die Arbeit Death Refuses von Percy John Delf Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 729,08) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Percy John Delf Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The dance of death im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.125,00 (€ 15.719,04).
