Despite a disappointment, a good price for Percy Jowett

When the work St. Mary's in the Boltons, South Kensington by Percy Jowett was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 120.00 (€ 176.11). Despite this disappointing result, St. Mary's in the Boltons, South Kensington is the most expensive artwork by Percy Jowett that we have observed at auction so far.
