Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Hydra, Greece (Puppy in Window) by Pentti Sammallahti was sold in the The Gift of Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in December this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,024.00 (€ 925.69) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pentti Sammallahti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'Solovki, White Sea, Russia', 1992 in May 2017 with an auction result of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,896.22).
