Auction result misses estimated price range
In December this year a collector was able to acquire the work Landscapes, Figure, and Calligraphy by Peng Ximing for HKD 8,190.00 (€ 947.68). This price was achieved in the auction Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection at Christies in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peng Ximing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn Stream in April this year with an auction result of HKD 86,400.00 (€ 88,231.30).
