Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 875.00 (€ 1,079.12). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Pelagio Palagi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work L'incontro di Carlo VIII e Gian Galeazzo Sforza a Pavia nel 1494 in May 2010 with an auction result of EUR 63,800.00.

Die Arbeit A male nude leaning on a pedestal von Pelagio Palagi wurde im Dezember 2012 in der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 800,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 875,00 (€ 1.079,12) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Pelagio Palagi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit L'incontro di Carlo VIII e Gian Galeazzo Sforza a Pavia nel 1494 im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 63.800,00.
