Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In The Italian Countryside by Pavel Osipovich Kovalevsky was sold in the Russian Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in June 2008. The price achieved of GBP 43,250.00 (€ 54,669.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Pavel Osipovich Kovalevsky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work General Iosif Gurko In The Balkans in November 2011 with an auction result of GBP 253,250.00 (€ 295,643.44).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 43.250,00 (€ 54.669,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 40.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pavel Osipovich Kovalevsky auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit General Iosif Gurko In The Balkans im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 253.250,00 (€ 295.643,44).
