Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Paul Staiger achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. In the Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art auction, the work Raw Crops: Cabbage, 1975 sold for USD 14,025.00 (€ 13,310.24) - well above the upper estimate of USD 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Paul Staiger; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Charles Sitting ('66 Rambler) sold at auction in March 2016 with the realized price of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,364.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Paul Staiger erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in CaliforniaContemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Raw Crops: Cabbage, 1975 für USD 14.025,00 (€ 13.310,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Paul Staiger; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Charles Sitting ('66 Rambler) im März 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.364,35).
