Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Important American Furniture, Folk Art, English Pottery, Rugs & Prints, which included the work The Bloody Massacre (Brigham, Plate 14) by Paul Revere. It changed hands for a price of USD 116,500.00 (€ 84,943.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Revere have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View of Part of the Town of Boston in New-England and Brittish Ships of War: Landing Their Troops! 1768 (Brigham Plate 24) in January last year with an auction result of USD 721,800.00 (€ 643,774.53).
