Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La Caravane De Selpaul Merwart ; The Salt Carriers ; Signed Lower Right ; Oil On Canvas by Paul Merwart was auctioned at Sothebys in Paris in October 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 10,625.00. Admittedly, works by Paul Merwart have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Daydreaming in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 93,064.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La Caravane De Selpaul Merwart ; The Salt Carriers ; Signed Lower Right ; Oil On Canvas von Paul Merwart im Oktober 2008 bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 10.625,00 den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Paul Merwart auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Daydreaming im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 93.064,95).
