Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Rüstem Pasha Mosque In Constantinople: A Pair by Paul Leroy was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,013.69). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Leroy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In the harem, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 74,400.00 (€ 110,405.86).

Die Arbeit The Rüstem Pasha Mosque In Constantinople: A Pair von Paul Leroy wurde im April 2020 in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.013,69) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Leroy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In the harem beobachtet, die im Juni 2007 für GBP 74.400,00 (€ 110.405,86) versteigert wurde.
