Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Jeunes garçons au bord de l'oued by Paul Leroy was sold in the Orientalism Online auction at Artcurial in June this year. The price achieved of EUR 3,542.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul Leroy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In the harem in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 74,400.00 (€ 110,405.86).

Die Arbeit Jeunes garçons au bord de l'oued von Paul Leroy wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Orientalism Online bei Artcurial versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.542,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Paul Leroy erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In the harem im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.400,00 (€ 110.405,86).
