Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work La Boite d’Ennuie de RIP’ by Paul Colin was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2018, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 9,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,659.01). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paul Colin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Le Tumulte Noir, which sold at auction in November 2018 for GBP 118,750.00 (€ 133,946.39).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit La Boite d’Ennuie de RIP’ von Paul Colin im November 2018 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – GBP 9.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.659,01) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Paul Colin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Le Tumulte Noir beobachtet, die im November 2018 für GBP 118.750,00 (€ 133.946,39) versteigert wurde.
