Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Jeune femme allongée by Paul César Helleu was worth GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,727.07) to a buyer in July 2021. This price was achieved in the auction British and European Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Paul César Helleu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait De Madame Helleu À L'Ombrelle in June 2014 with an auction result of EUR 793,500.00.
