Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2005 Christies in London held the auction 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART, which included the work Hand Car Wash by Paul Bassingthwaighte. It changed hands for a price of GBP 480.00 (€ 701.20) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Other works by Paul Bassingthwaighte have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2004 the work Child Resting was auctioned for GBP 836.50 (€ 1,183.88).

Im August 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hand Car Wash von Paul Bassingthwaighte zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 480,00 (€ 701,20) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Andere Arbeiten von Paul Bassingthwaighte konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Dezember 2004 die Arbeit Child Resting für GBP 836,50 (€ 1.183,88) versteigert.
