Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of a child by Patrizius Kittner was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 378.00 (€ 422.26). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrizius Kittner achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young lady called Princess Galitzin née Moisseff (1834-1914), in off-the-shoulder blue dress, black gauze stole over her shoulders, a gem-set black choker, gold earring and bracelets, her dark hair upswept, seated in an upholstered black chair; gr in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,740.1
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of a child von Patrizius Kittner im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 378,00 (€ 422,26) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Patrizius Kittner erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A young lady called Princess Galitzin née Moisseff (1834-1914), in off-the-shoulder blue dress, black gauze stole over her shoulders, a gem-set black choker, gold earring and bracelets, her dark hair upswept, seated in an upholstered black chair; gr im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.740,13).
