Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Stations by Patrick O'Reilly was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,949.18). Admittedly, works by Patrick O'Reilly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Life Goes On in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,229.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Stations von Patrick O'Reilly im Oktober 2007 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.949,18) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Patrick O'Reilly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Life Goes On im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.229,16).
