Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Empire by Patrick O'Reilly was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 5,020.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Patrick O'Reilly have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Life Goes On in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,229.16).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Empire von Patrick O'Reilly kam im Oktober 2006 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 5.020,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Patrick O'Reilly auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Life Goes On im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.229,16).
