Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2010 Christies in London held the auction Exploration and Travel including the Polar Sale, which included the work British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Keohane's black silk cap ribbon with 'TERRA NOVA' woven in gilt thread by Patrick Keohane. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 875.00 (€ 1,012.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Patrick Keohane achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Keohane's sledging flag, sewn and embroidered by him in the hut at Cape Evans, and carried by him on the expedition in September 2010 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,698.18).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British Antarctic Expedition, 1910-13: Keohane's sledging flag, sewn and embroidered by him in the hut at Cape Evans, and carried by him on the expedition im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.698,18).
