The »bidding war« ended at GBP 50,000.00 (€ 56,384.57), 43% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Parviz Tanavoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Wall (Oh, Persepolis) in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,824,897.23).

Die Arbeit The Lovers (Shirin and Farhad) von Parviz Tanavoli wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Middle Eastern, Modern and Contemporary Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 50.000,00 (€ 56.384,57) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Parviz Tanavoli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Wall (Oh, Persepolis) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.824.897,23).
