It achieved a price of GBP 189,000.00 (€ 224,080.77), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. Admittedly, works by Parviz Tanavoli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Wall (Oh, Persepolis) in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,824,897.23).

Die Arbeit Poet and Pregnant Woman / Poet and the Lover of King von Parviz Tanavoli kam im März letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 189.000,00 (€ 224.080,77) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Parviz Tanavoli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Wall (Oh, Persepolis) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.824.897,23).
