It achieved a price of USD 200,000.00 (€ 178,126.11), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Parviz Tanavoli achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Wall (Oh, Persepolis) in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 2,841,000.00 (€ 1,824,897.23).

Die Arbeit Poet and Cage von Parviz Tanavoli kam im März 2019 bei Christies in Dubai zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 200.000,00 (€ 178.126,11) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 67%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Parviz Tanavoli erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Wall (Oh, Persepolis) im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.841.000,00 (€ 1.824.897,23).
