Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Irises in a glass jar, a lizard and a caterpillar on a tabletop by Paolo Porpora. The price achieved of USD 96,000.00 (€ 75,158.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paolo Porpora - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A forest floor with a porcupine, rabbit, ducks, tortoises and a snake, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 189,000.00 (€ 165,180.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2006 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Irises in a glass jar, a lizard and a caterpillar on a tabletop von Paolo Porpora zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 96.000,00 (€ 75.158,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Paolo Porpora mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A forest floor with a porcupine, rabbit, ducks, tortoises and a snake beobachtet, die im Januar 2024 für USD 189.000,00 (€ 165.180,91) versteigert wurde.
