Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Pablo Gargallo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2016. In the From Ancient To Modern: A Distinguished Private Collection auction, the work Kiki de Montparnasse sold for GBP 341,000.00 (€ 398,684.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Pablo Gargallo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Masque D'Arlequin Souriant Iii, 1927 sold at auction in October 2007 with the realized price of EUR 490,896.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Pablo Gargallo erzielte im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion From Ancient To Modern: A Distinguished Private Collection wurde die Arbeit Kiki de Montparnasse für GBP 341.000,00 (€ 398.684,33) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Pablo Gargallo; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Masque D'Arlequin Souriant Iii, 1927 im Oktober 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 490.896,00.
