nine lithographs in colors, circa 1865, on wove papers, published by J. Linden and A. Verschaffelt, Ghent, Belgium, all with margins, minor surface soiling, pale foxing mostly in the margins, Reine de Portugal with several short tears at the margins edges and some staining in the margins, Impératrice des Indes with light-staining, the paper tone darkened and a small tear at the lower left margin, otherwise all apparently in good condition, in French mats with wash lines and faux bronzed frames with a leaf border, not examined out of the frames

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work L'Illustration Horticole: Nine Plates by P. Stroobant was sold in the The House Sale auction at Christies in New York in March 2004. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,390.00 (€ 1,944.35), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by P. Stroobant have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 4,200.00 (€ 3,251.03) in April 2005 for the work Illustration Horticole: Six Plates.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit L'Illustration Horticole: Nine Plates von P. Stroobant wurde im März 2004 in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.390,00 (€ 1.944,35) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von P. Stroobant haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.200,00 (€ 3.251,03) im April 2005 für die Arbeit Illustration Horticole: Six Plates beobachtet.
