Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons, which included the work A gentleman in white coat and scarlet waistcoat, lace cravat, wearing a wig by Ozias Humphry. The price achieved of GBP 300.00 (€ 444.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250.00 – 350.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ozias Humphry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sahibzada (C. 1782 - C. 1817), In Orange And White Robe, Wearing A Blue Nawabi Turban, Seated Cross-Legged On A Gold Striped Purple Cushion; Column Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 67,689.35).

Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion Portrait Miniatures, Objects of Vertu & Icons durch, in der auch die Arbeit A gentleman in white coat and scarlet waistcoat, lace cravat, wearing a wig von Ozias Humphry zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 300,00 (€ 444,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250,00 – 350,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ozias Humphry erzielen.
