Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2005 Christies in London held the auction MARITIME PICTURES AND WATERCOLOURS, which included the work Portrait of A Lady, Bust-Length, Wearing A Bonnet With A Blue Ribbon by Ozias Humphry. It changed hands for a price of GBP 96.00 (€ 142.28) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 50.00 – 100.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ozias Humphry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sahibzada (C. 1782 - C. 1817), In Orange And White Robe, Wearing A Blue Nawabi Turban, Seated Cross-Legged On A Gold Striped Purple Cushion; Column Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 67,689.35).

Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 96,00 (€ 142,28) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 50,00 – 100,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ozias Humphry erzielen.
