Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Haidar Beg Khan, Prime Minister to Asoph ul Dowlah, holding a letter-bag with red seal seated before two pillars, facing left in white robes, embroidered pink and white turban by Ozias Humphry was sold in the IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU auction at Christies in London in May 2002. The price achieved of GBP 2,031.50 (€ 3,181.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ozias Humphry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sahibzada (C. 1782 - C. 1817), In Orange And White Robe, Wearing A Blue Nawabi Turban, Seated Cross-Legged On A Gold Striped Purple Cushion; Column Background in November 2013 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 67,689.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Haidar Beg Khan, Prime Minister to Asoph ul Dowlah, holding a letter-bag with red seal seated before two pillars, facing left in white robes, embroidered pink and white turban von Ozias Humphry wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion IMPORTANT PORTRAIT MINIATURES, GOLD BOXES & OBJECTS OF VERTU bei Christies in London versteigert.
