Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christ Victorious by Otto van Veen was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Christies in New York in June 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,170.00 (€ 5,887.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Veen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture of Rome in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 728,750.00 (€ 817,088.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Christ Victorious von Otto van Veen wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.170,00 (€ 5.887,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
