Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Otto van Veen could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Drawings auction, the work The Triumph Of The Word Of God changed hands for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,584.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Veen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture of Rome in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 728,750.00 (€ 817,088.99).
