Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Triumph of the Church: Ecclesia presented with the Doctrines, seated in a chariot attended by the Four Doctors of the Church by Otto van Veen was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The price achieved of GBP 14,340.00 (€ 21,670.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Otto van Veen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Capture of Rome in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 728,750.00 (€ 817,088.99).

Die Arbeit The Triumph of the Church: Ecclesia presented with the Doctrines, seated in a chariot attended by the Four Doctors of the Church von Otto van Veen kam im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 14.340,00 (€ 21.670,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Otto van Veen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Capture of Rome im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 728.750,00 (€ 817.088,99).
